Gamboa Aguilar Family

Missionaries in Río Cuarto, Costa Rica

We are the Gamboa Aguilar family—José, Keren, Amber, and Zoe. As a family serving God full-time, our lives are grounded in faith, deep family unity, and a shared passion for making everyone we meet feel like an extended part of our own family.

We live in the beautiful region of Río Cuarto, Alajuela, Costa Rica—a region blessed with lush green landscapes, rich agricultural traditions, and natural wonders like the Río Cuarto lagoon and the three lagoons of Bosque Alegre. Our local culture is rooted in genuine warmth, hospitality, and the true “Pura Vida” spirit. Life here centers around close-knit community bonds, shared faith, and joyous gatherings—especially during September, our independence month, when neighbors, families, and schools unite in vibrant patriotic celebrations.

As a family, we love going on adventures, exploring new places, traveling, and unwinding with movies. Music plays a central role in our home; while we don’t claim to be experts, we thoroughly enjoy praising God and filling our space with music. We also love to cook—around our table, hearty homemade meals become a way to serve, connect, and build relationships. Whether sharing a traditional casado (rice, beans, plantains, salad, and protein), fresh handmade tortillas, or a warm cup of locally grown coffee, cooking is one of our favorite ways to express love and hospitality.

Living alongside the humble, hardworking people of Río Cuarto inspires us daily. Our heart is to walk shoulder-to-shoulder with our neighbors, offering practical support, solidarity, and the unconditional love of Christ through every season of life.
